Following reports of a huge number of reinforcements pouring to drive back the jihadist assault on southwest Aleppo, the Syrian Army and the supporting units launched a massive counteroffensive.

The main forces involved in the attack are the elite Republican Guards and the powerful Tiger Forces. Judging by their huge experience and their successful record during this conflict, those powerful units are more than likely to suffice in repelling the islamist offensive on Aleppo.

Early reports indicate that they have already captured the 1070 Project, but those reports remain unconfirmed. The Syrian Air Force is notably heavily involved in the Aleppo battles bombarding the militants’ convoys and mobilization points all around the Aleppo and Idlib provinces.

Two days ago, a conglomeration of jihadist factions under the banner of Jaish Al-Fateh launched a powerful offensive in southwest Aleppo along a front that extends 20 km in a bid to lift the siege off their beleaguered comrades in east Aleppo. So far, the rebel forces have seized a number of points including the Mushayrifah village.

This is the time that we need cluster and barrel bombs dropped on everything.
Why hasn’t the SyAF and RuAF been active for the scale of the battle raging in Aleppo?

who told you they have not? satellite footage, a top shelf russian spy plane and multiple drones are observing this front all along. how do you protect an area when your limited on manpower when its being attacked by the majority of terrorists in all of idlib aleppo and latakia all at the same time??? the SAA has been doing an admirable job at absorbing this offensive. dont worry, the payback in the counterattack is going to be absolutely brutal

Great news! as of now there has been at least 800 rebels killed compared to 80 SAA allies. If the jihadist wont be able to end the siege this would be a BIG defeat for them.

The terrorists already lost, it took them ALL their manpower in idlib aleppo and latakia to advance on a rather limited group of determined SAA soldiers. THIS offensive, no matter where it goes, and even if it breaks the siege (which it wont) will not end good for the terrorists. they have been officially quantified, and their equipment has been identified.

I hope they trained night assaults and all have goggles… it’s rather an opportunity to draw the rats out and decimate them. A good bloodletting is what Jihad needs, and the loss of most of its retarded sons.
