The Syrian Arab Army’s 48th Special Forces Regiment – backed by the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), Syrian Marines, and National Defense Forces (NDF) – launched a counter-offensive in Jabal Al-Akrad (Kurdish Mountains) this morning after losing the strategic mountaintop of Jabal Al-Qal’at and several surrounding points to the extremist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group).

According to a military source at the nearby town of Slunfeh, the Syrian Armed Forces have recaptured Jabal Abu ‘Ali from the joint contingent of Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jaysh Al-Turkmen fighters near the imperative village of Kinsibba in Jabal Al-Akrad.

In addition to recapturing Jabal Abu ‘Ali, the Syrian Armed Forces launched a counter-assault at Jabal Al-Qal’at in order to retake this mountaintop that overlooks Kinsibba from the west.

Currently, firefights are ongoing between the opposing parties at Jabal Al-Qal’at as the Syrian Armed Forces look to recapture more territory from the extremist rebels in northern Latakia.

  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
