BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a large assault across the northern axis of the Hama Governorate this afternoon.
Using heavy artillery and surface-to-surface missiles, the Syrian Arab Army targeted the positions of the Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) Jaysh Al-Izza faction near the towns of Kafr Zita and Al-Latamnah.
The Syrian Army would then spread their assault to several other areas in the Hama Governorate, causing heavy damage to Jaysh Al-Izza’s trenches and hideouts near the Idlib Governorate axis.
This assault by the Syrian Arab Army comes just hours after Jaysh Al-Izza launched an attack on the northern Hama towns under the control of the government.
Up until this week, the month of March had experienced less hostilities than February; however, since March 24th, the two sides have once again engaged in heavy combat along the Hama-Idlib axis.
