The Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard is preparing a new offensive inside the dilapidated town of Jobar after the rebel insurgents from Faylaq Al-Rahman violated the ceasefire terms in the Greater Damascus area.
According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus City, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade has begun the necessary preparations to strike the rebel forces inside Jobar after they were attacked by Faylaq Al-Rahman on two separate occasions yesterday.
Details regarding the offensive were not provided to Al-Masdar due to security purposes; however, the attack is expected to begin in the next two days.
Jobar has long been contested by both the Syrian Armed Forces and the extremist rebel factions, leaving the entire town destroyed due to the constant fighting and bombardment.
Despite its tarnished infrastructure, the capture of Jobar is an imperative military endeavor for the Syrian Armed Forces because of its proximity to the nation’s capital.
