DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) have made several advances in the eastern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate today, forcing the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) retreat east towards their stronghold of Al-Bab.

Led by the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate the small village of Umm Ahmad Al-Talatin after overrunning the Islamic State’s main defensive line this afternoon.

In addition to liberating the village of Umm Ahmad Al-Talatin, the Syrian Arab Army has captured a number of small hilltops en route to the strategic radar base located directly west of Al-Bab.

The Syrian Armed Forces were able to make these rapid gains today, thanks in large-part to the Kurdish-led “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF), who have applied pressure on the Islamic State’s positions in the north.

Take good care : Turkish F-16s are patrolling northern Syria for hours with a tanker… Maybe time to down a tanker? Even an old S-200 could do it : they are big, slow and not manoeuvrable at all… They have already been warned to stop entering Syrian airspace, didn’t they?

The R+6 haven’t shot at any thing in the air yet and if they haven’t done it yet I highly suspect they won’t. Mean while it may be possible that Turkey has sent anti-air to al-Bab. If true and Turkey continues to get away with it, how long before NATO wants a piece of the NFZ game?
