BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:10 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) foiled a jihadist attack on their positions in the Al-Ghaab Plain of northwest Hama last night.
According to a military report from the government stronghold of Sqaylabiyeh, the jihadist rebels of the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) attempted to infiltrate the Syrian Arab Army’s positions west of the town of Al-Ziyara.
The Syrian Arab Army was able to kill several members of the Turkestan Islamic Party before they finally withdrew to the eastern half of the Al-Ghaab Plain.
In response to the jihadist infiltration attempt, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a heavy attack on the TIP-held towns of Al-Ziyara and Tal Wasit in the eastern part of Al-Ghaab.
The Syrian Arab Army is still striking much of the jihadist-held areas in the Al-Ghaab Plain, while also reinforcing their positions near the Latakia axis.
