BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:10 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) struck back against the jihadist rebels in eastern Damascus today after losing several points inside of Jobar on Tuesday.

Led by the 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army detonated a tunnel bomb under the jihadist rebel positions in northern Jobar, killing a large number of militants in the process.

Following the tunnel bombing, the Syrian Arab Army attacked several jihadist-controlled sites in northern Jobar, resulting in a series of intense clashes that are still ongoing.

While no major gains have been made yet, the Syrian Arab Army has managed to inflict heavy damage on the enemy defenses, putting them in position to recover the territory they lost by weakening Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s resolve.
