BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) inflicted heavy damage on the Islamic State’s (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) remaining defenses in southern Syria, today, after launching a large-scale attack on the Al-Safa region.
Led by their 1st and 3rd divisions, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate the Islamic State’s last water source in the Al-Safa region after breaking through the terrorist group’s main defensive line along the northern axis of the mountain.
According to a military source in Sweida city, the Syrian Arab Army killed over 15 Islamic State terrorists during the short battle in the Al-Safa region on Wednesday morning.
With virtually nowhere to retreat and very little provisions, the Islamic State is likely to surrender their remaining positions in the coming days.
The Syrian Arab Army has already rejected the Islamic State’s terms of surrender because they were not favorable; however, with pressure from the families of the kidnapped civilians of Sweida, the government will likely cut a deal to get the terrorist group to release the prisoners.
