BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:25 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their offensive in the southern countryside of Idlib this morning, targeting the remaining towns located near Sinjar.

Backed by heavy artillery and airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces led the attack on several towns, resulting in a new series of advances in southern Idlib.

According to the preliminary reports from the Idlib Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army has captured three towns from the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-‘Izza near Sinjar.

The Syrian Army has already begun shelling the jihadist positions at Sinjar in a bid to weaken HTS’ resolve before they storm the town.

Sinjar is an imperative town that is located along the eastern road to the jihadist stronghold of Ma’arat Al-Nu’man; it is a top priority for the Syrian Army in southern Idlib at the moment.
