After several days of heavy clashes, the Syrian Army and its allies have finally fully liberated the Al-Shaer district, largely considered the second line of defence for rebel forces in Aleppo and notably, their most fortified neighbourhood.

Effectively, today’s advance puts the remaining jihadist controlled districts of East Aleppo in a highly precarious position.

Now, the Syrian Army and aligned forces are advancing towards the historic Aleppo Citadel, a site only 750 meters away. If successful, the capture of the area around the citadel could result in the full capitulation of jihadist forces in Aleppo city.

Let us hope that enough US Terrorist leaders in Aleppo are captured so the the dirty secrets of the US coalition are exposed to the world.

Capture of the citadel, thought that the citadel is a SAA stronghold defence

Yeah I noticed that, too. Mistakes happen. 😉

I agree with AMN though that if they can push through to the citadel the siege is a huge step closer to end. The rebels can’t hold out with a fortified battle front and their north eastern perimeter seems awfully weak.

Did they fix text? I read “advancing towards the historic Aleppo Citadel”. Does not say word “capture”.
