DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:05 P.M.) – The Syrian forces are using artillery, missiles and airstrikes to destroy jihadists’ positions and gatherings in east Idlib countryside in preparation for the ground invasion.
Several jihadi-held towns including Teinah, Um Khalakheel, Mashirfah , Loubydah and Khuwyn – all located south of Abu Duhur air base – have come under heavy shelling; marking the beginning of a new frontline.
Sporadic clashes broke out between Army units and jihadi rebels on the outskirts of Khuwyn amid reports of another offensive in northern Hama.
Meanwhile, huge reinforcements poured into the area as the long-awaited Idlib battles will kick off soon.
Earlier, Russian Special Forces and military advisers have made it to Abu Duhur air base which will serve as the command center for Idlib assault.
