BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army intensified their military operations in the Wadi Barada area of rural Damascus on Saturday after the jihadist rebels of Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front) continued to obstruct the water flow to over 5 million people in the Syrian capital.
Led by their 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army has increased the pressure on Wadi Barada, striking Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham’s defenses at the southwestern part of this village near the Western Mountains.
The Syrian Armed Forces are attempting to pressure the remaining jihadist rebels in Wadi Barada to surrender this pocket along the Lebanese border.
So far, Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham and their allies have refused the terms of surrender; this has prompted the Syrian Arab Army to strike their positions in order to prompt them to stop obstructing the flow of water to the people of Damascus.
