Aleppo, Syria (11:30 A.M.) – The Syrian Armed Forces, alongside Hezbollah and Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), stormed the key village of Al-Qarassi this morning after failing to maintain control over it on Wednesday.

According to a military source in the Aleppo Governorate, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah attacked Al-Qarassi from the Huwayz axis, while the Syrian Air Force targeted Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) at the nearby town of Khan Touman.

Al-Qarassi is considered the gateway to Khan Touman; this is one of the reasons why it is a top priority for the Syrian Arab Army’s high command.

If the Syrian Armed Forces capture Khan Touman from Jaysh Al-Fateh, then they will have fire control over the Aleppo-Damascus Highway (M-5 Highway).

So far, no gains have been reported from this front; however, Jaysh Al-Fateh was cutoff from their forces inside the Aleppo Artillery Academy after the Tiger Forces captured ‘Aqra Hill along the Khan Touman-Ramouseh Road.

so what happened? We only hear the rebels’ side of the story. They are saying that the SAA & allies got smoked, and they have some video to back this up. What gives? Do you have any details? Whats the deal with the attacks of open country, without cover fire, or suppressing artillery fire? Why don’t the SAA use BMP’s to cross the open territory, to avoid the danger of shrapnel from thos 40 mm mortars the Jihadi’s are plunking around the SAA? Thats the entire purpose of a BMP is to provide some cover and SPEED to attacking infantry.… Read more »

we all want to know the results of last nights attack on the Aeronautical college. Did the SAA run the Jihadi’s out, or did the terrorist beat the SAA? What gives with the frontal assaults? Why don’t the SAA use BMP’s to move troops forward under fire? That’s what the Jihadi’s do to great affect. The BMP is good cover against the mortar’s shrapnel, and small arms fire. too many Anti Tank missiles around to use the BMPS? The SAA attacks look dangerous and exposed, with little chance of success. They need to do the lightening fast attacks, using armor… Read more »
