The Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division, backed by Hezbollah and local tribal fighters, launched a large-scale counter-offensive in southwest Deir Ezzor to recapture all of the points they lost to the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at Jabal Thardeh.

Under the cover of Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah were able to recapture most of the points they lost after an intense battle with the Islamic State terrorists at Jabal Thardeh.

More importantly, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah were once again able to push back the Islamic State terrorists from the strategic hilltop that overlooks the Deir Ezzor Military Airport and secure this imperative installation.

As a result of their ground success on Wednesday, Russian attack helicopters from the Qamishli Military Airport were able to land at the Deir Ezzor Airport.

many months ago. last fall or winter Hezb sent in their troops to reinforce and replace SAA/NDF. It was a nasty surprise for the IS rats 1st time they tried an attack after, not knowing who was facing them now.
