BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:25 P.M.) – The Syrian Armed Forces resumed their field operations near the strategic Arak Gas Fields in the eastern countryside of the Homs Governorate, Saturday, targeting the Islamic State’s (ISIL) defenses from several axes.
Backed by Hezbollah and Liwaa Fatemiyoun, the Syrian Arab Army attacked the Islamic State’s positions at the small mountaintop of Jabal Tadmuriyah, resulting in a series of clashes that lasted for several hours today.
According to the 11th Tank Division, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies liberated Jabal Tadmuriyah, today, while also capturing Sid Arak and the Hafnah Wells that are located near the Arak Gas Fields.
With this latest advance, the Syrian Arab Army is close to establishing fire control over the Arak Gs Fields, which will ultimately result in the Islamic State’s complete withdrawal from the area due to their exposed defenses.
