ALEPPO, SYRIA (12:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), backed by Hezbollah, resumed their large-scale offensive in southern Aleppo on Sunday, targeting the rural area between Khan Touman and the 1070 Al-Hamdaniyah Housing Project.

Led by the 800th Regiment of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies stormed the Air Defense Base on Sunday morning; this resulted in a short battle with the jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest).

Following the capture of the Air Defense Base, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies advanced further south towards the key town of Khan Touman, imposing fire control over the imperative hilltop of Tal Bazou and the Al-Rashiddeen 5 District.

While Syrian Army originally controlled the Air Defense Base, the territory they captured south of this military installation was all brand new.
