The Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard units – backed by Hezbollah and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – reportedly captured the village of Bala Al-Kadhim after a violent battle with the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and their allies in the East Ghouta region of Greater Damascus.
According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus City, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah advanced east from the recently captured Air Defense Battalion, paving the way for their important advance on Friday.
All of this could not have been possible, however, without the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF), who relentlessly bombarded the Jabhat Al-Nusra militants and weakened their defenses.
In total, the militants from Jabhat Al-Nusra lost 6 fighters, including their field commander Mahmoud Al-Dalati.
With the capture of Bala Al-Kadhim today, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah have effectively put themselves in position to strike Harasta Al-Quntara from two different flanks.
