DAMASCUS, SYRIA (7:30 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside Hezbollah, launched a fresh assault at the Aqrab area of southwest Aleppo this morning after taking a brief hiatus this past weekend.
The Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah began their assault by firing several artillery shells and rockets towards the enemy defenses, paving the way for their eventual ground assault at the northern axis of the Aqrab area.
According to a military source in Aleppo, no gains have been made thus far; however, the attack also started one hour ago.
Russian jets are also involved in today’s assault by the Syrian Arab Army, launching several airstrikes in the southwestern corridor of Aleppo city.
Today’s attack in the Aqrab area is a prelude to the upcoming Syrian Arab Army offensive that will target several axes across the province, the military source added.
