BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Iraq’s Hashd Al-Sha’abi (var. Popular Mobilization Units) unleashed another big assault against the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) terrorists in the southeastern part of the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
Using surface-to-surface missiles and artillery shells, both the Syrian Arab Army and Hashd Al-Sha’abi repeatedly pounded the Daesh defenses near the town of Baghouz Al-Fouqani and its corresponding mountain.
Similar to their attack on Wednesday, the Syrian Arab Army and Hashd Al-Sha’abi were targeting launching pads for the Daesh militants in a bid to halt the terrorist group’s attacks on the Iraqi border and nearby city of Albukamal.
The joint Syrian Arab Army-Hashd Al-Sha’abi attack was carried out near the lines of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), who are currently involved in a fierce battle with the Daesh terrorists in the southeastern part of Deir Ezzor.
