BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their large-scale offensive around Daraa city this morning, seizing new areas from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and their allies.

Led by their 42nd Brigade of the 4th Armored Division, the Syrian Arab Army attacked the Jaleen Neighborhood of west Daraa in a bid to tighten the siege around the provincial capital.

Not long after launching this attack, the Syrian Arab Army was able to impose full control over the Jaleen Neighborhood, forcing the rebel forces to fall back further in the Daraa Governorate.

Following the capture of the Jaleen Neighborhood, the Syrian Arab Army continued their advance against the rebel forces in western Daraa.

According to a military source in Daraa, the Syrian Army has seized several points near the Jaleen Neighborhood, as their warplanes continue to hit the rebel and ISIS forces around the province.

Since Monday, the Syrian Army has seized a large number of areas around the provincial capital, leaving the rebels in the Daraa Al-Balad District further isolated from their supply lines from the western part of the province.

In the coming days, the rebel forces will likely sue for peace, as they no longer possess the ability to resupply their troops in the southern districts of Daraa city.
