BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels attempted to advance in the northern countryside of Latakia last night, a military source told Al-Masdar News.
Led by Jabal Al-Islam, the jihadist rebels attempted to catch the Syrian Arab Army and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) off guard near the large hilltop of Tal Ziwaqiyat near the Turkish border.
However, the attack would ultimately be repulsed by the Syrian Armed Forces after a short battle with the jihadist rebels last night.
The Syrian Arab Army was able to prepare for this jihadist attack after one of their reconnaissance drones captured footage of Jabal Al-Islam’s movements in northern Latakia.
Jabal Al-Islam has launched several attacks like this in the past, with many of them being often successful in the Jabal Al-Turkmen region of Latakia.
