Syrian Army Liberates Area in Hama + VIDEO

Hama, Syria (12:25 P.M.) – Jund Al-Aqsa (Al-Qaeda franchise), backed by the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Jund Al-Sham (Chechen group), launched a new assault at the town of Ma’ardes in northern Hama on Tuesday night, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses at the western flank.

The assault began with the jihadist rebels attempting to break-through the Syrian Arab Army’s first-line of defense at Maardes’ western flank; however, this attack was ultimately repelled after the government forces destroyed a pick-up ruck mounted with a 23 mm anti-aircraft machine gun.

Undeterred, the jihadists launched a second wave of fighters towards the western flank of Ma’ardes; this resulted in a violent battle that lasted nearly two hours last night.

The Syrian Armed Forces were able to foil this assault by Jund Al-Aqsa and their allies, killing a half dozen militants in the process.
