BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) managed to foil an infiltration attempt by a Turkish-backed rebel group in the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

According to a military communique from northern Hama, the Syrian Arab Army stopped a group of Turkish-backed rebels from the Jaysh Al-Izza group that were trying to infiltrate into the towns of Souran and Taybat Al-Imam.

The communique said the Syrian military managed to eliminate several of the Jaysh Al-Izza militants before declaring the area fully secured.

These rebel infiltration attempts have recently increased over the last few weeks as reports of an impending Syrian Arab Army offensive in the Idlib Governorate has prompted Jaysh Al-Izza and their allies to become more aggressive.
