DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:00 P.M.) – Having ousted the Islamic State from its last foothold IN the far western countryside of Daraa, the government forces initiated a full-scale mop-up operation to fully secure the area.
The operation uncovered massive weapon caches and supplies; specifically in the towns of Koya and Qusayer which were the last ISIS strongholds to be liberated.
The weapons, mostly Israeli-made, include: mortar shells, RPGs, ATGMs, assault rifles and various kinds of ammunition.
Israeli and Saudi-made food and medical supplies were also found in the two towns.
The entire Yarmouk Basin region was recaptured after the Syrian forces overrun ISIS in a two-week long battle.
