BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – A large number of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reinforcements were sent from the 5th Armored Division’s base in Izra’a last night to the provincial capital of Dara’a in order to help reverse the jihadist gains inside the city.

Once the reinforcements arrived to the city, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful counter-attack that resulted in the recapture of several points inside the Al-Manishiyah District.

The Syrian Arab Army was also not alone during last night’s counter-attack, the Syrian Air Force was launching nonstop raids over the southern part of the provincial capital, paving the way for their ground units to advance against Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

Despite their preliminary success last night, the Syrian Arab Army has yet to recapture the mosque area and Al-Najjar Building; this is due to the fact that the jihadist rebels still control the site where they detonated a tunnel bomb on Sunday.
