BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside the National Defense Forces (NDF), launched a powerful counter-attack against the Islamic State (ISIL) terror organization, Friday, targeting the rural town of Jibab Hamad in the eastern countryside of Homs.
Led by the 18th Tank Division, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies resumed their offensive, Saturday, pushing their way inside the ISIL-held town of Jibab Hamad, which is located 12km north of Umm Al-Tababeer.
With practical fire control over the town, the Syrian Arab Army was able to swiftly move into Jibab Hamad and expel the Islamic State terrorists from the area.
Following the liberation of Jibab Hamad, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies continued their advance along the Homs-Hama provincial axis, striking many points around the towns of Maksar Al-Hossan and Jubb Al-Jarrah.
According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the Syrian Armed Forces are utilizing guided missiles to improve their positions and inflict heavy damage on the Islamic State’s defenses.
