HAMA, SYRIA (4:30 P.M.) – As of 4:10 P.M. (Damascus Time), the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” are in full control of the strategic town of Souran after a fierce battle with the jihadist rebels of Jund Al-Sham (Mostly Chechen fighters) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.
According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the Syrian Armed Forces managed to captured the southern and eastern districts of Souran at 2:30 P.M., paving the way for their final assault on the northern axis of the town.
During the assault on the northern axis, the jihadist rebels flooded Souran with dozens of reinforcements from the nearby town of Taybat Al-Imam; however, it was too little too late, as the Syrian Armed Forces ultimately forced them to withdraw.
Not long after the Syrian Armed Forces established full control over Souran, the jihadist rebels of Jund Al-Sham launched a counter-attack to reclaim the town before the Tiger Forces could fortify their positions.
Intense clashes are now ongoing at Souran’s northern axis, as the jihadist rebels attempt to reenter the town.
