BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:10 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has entered another key town in the Daraa Governorate after securing a reconciliation deal with the rebels that once controlled the area.
According to a military report from the Daraa Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army officially entered Inkhil in the northern countryside of the province after the Russian Reconciliation Center made a deal with the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
The Syrian Army reportedly entered Inkhil alongside the Russian military police for the first time since they lost this town during the first years of the war.
The Russian military police will now collect the medium and heavy weapons from the rebel forces, while also working to resolve any disputed between the opposition fighters and government.
In regards to the Syrian Army, they will leave the town in the coming days, as part of the reconciliation deal that was agreed upon by all parties in Inkhil.
Inkhil is a strategic town that is located in the northern part of the province.
With Inkhil under the government’s control, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies will now shift their attention to the western countryside of Daraa, where they hope to seize the provincial border with Al-Quneitra.
