BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:55 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their field operations in Deir Ezzor on Saturday, targeting the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions in-and-around the provincial capital.
Following an intense battle at Al-Rashidiyah, the Syrian Arab Army turned their attention to the Al-Sina’a District, where they carried out a special operation to obstruct the Islamic State’s main supply line.
The Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard forces managed to identify the location of the Islamic State’s primary supply tunnel in the Al-Sina’a District on Saturday afternoon, paving the way for their soldiers to unearth this site.
What the Syrian Arab Army discovered on Saturday was a 50 meter long tunnel that provided the Islamic State cover as they moved weapons and fighters inside the Al-Sina’a Distrit.
The Syrian Arab Army would later destroy this important supply site, putting an end to the terrorist group’s use of this tunnel.
