BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS) launched a surprise offensive in southern Damascus, Wednesday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s positions inside the Al-Tadamon District.
ISIS began the offensive by infiltrating the Syrian Arab Army’s front-lines in the Al-Tadamon District, capturing more than ten buildings from the government forces.
Not long after losing these buildings, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) mounted in a swift counter-offensive that targeted the Islamic State’s recent gains in Al-Tadamon.
The Syrian Army and their allies were able to recapture all of the territory they lost in Al-Tadamon on Wednesday, while also killig and wounding a dozen Islamic State terrorists in the process.
