According to reliable sources in Syria, pro-government forces are continuing military operations against ISIS terrorists in Homs province. Specifically, fighting was reported in the vicinity of the Tayfor Airbase, and east of the Christian town of Al-Qaryatayn.

A wide range of pro-government militias and groups are taking part in the Homs offensive, including elite forces, such as the Tiger Forces, and elements of the Syrian Republican Guard.

ISIS recaptured the ancient city of Palmyra several weeks ago, after they launched a surprise offensive. Since then, they have done further damage to the ancient ruins, which is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site.

With this rate of speed, they’ll relieve Deir-Ez-Zor in about 25 years. But will it matter is another thing… 😉

Yes 2 slow — IS is likely to concentrate in Deir Ezzor. Remote, oil, food and backward Sunni. Ideal for a last stand. Therefore the SAA must prevent the fall of its foothold and airport there.
