The Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard, backed by the Syrian Marines and National Defense Forces (NDF), launched a new offensive on Monday that targeted the strategic town of Kabani in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate.

The Syrian Armed Forces were able to capture three hilltops at the southern perimeter of Kabani, including the Zuwayqat Mountains that overlook the aforementioned village.

Following the capture of Zuwayqat and its corresponding mountains, the Syrian Armed Forces concluded their military operations at the outskirts of Kabani on Monday night.

On Tuesday morning, the Syrian Armed Forces continued their assault by launching a barrage of missiles and artillery shells at the southern flank of Kabani; this was followed by a series of clashes at the Zuwayqat-Kabani axis.

Clashes between the opposing sides are still ongoing at Kabani, as the Syrian Armed Forces continue to push north towards the village’s southern sector.
