BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:55 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s High Command issued a formal warning to the Israeli military on Thursday night, threatening to retaliate against any form of aggression that endangers Syria’s sovereignty.

“The army command and armed forces warn Israel of repercussions for their flagrant attacks on our soil,” the formal statement from the Syrian Army’s High Command read.

Israeli rockets reportedly struck the Mezzeh Airbase in western Damascus on Thursday night, just one hour after a suicide bombing took place in the Kafr Sousa District of the provincial capital.

Despite the accusations by the Syrian Arab Army’s High Command, Israeli officials have not yet commented on this attack.

A senior officer from the Syrian Arab Army told Al-Masdar News this morning that the missiles responsible for the massive explosions at the Mezzeh Airbase were too sophisticated for rebel use.

The officer added that the Syrian Air Defense confirmed the origin of the missiles, claiming they came from the Lake Tiberias area of Israel.

Thursday’s attack marked the first time this year that the Israelis have attacked the Syrian government forces inside Syria.

Israel seemingly wants a reaction before Trump is made president, so as always the Maxim, ‘ Revenge is best served cold ‘ would be in order here.

What filters from intelligence community is it simply was an Iranian missile to Hezbollah that was intended to be smuggled into Lebanon. Many seem to have a very hard time to understand what they are doing while it’s very simple when you stop buying the habitual propaganda against them and then it really makes sense. In fact, they even are pretty cool and idealists, it even shocked the Brit general that followed the Gaza operation in their war room as not a single nation is so eager into avoiding collateral damages. Just analyse their airstrikes : there are nearly no… Read more »

Daeshbag, You speak of Israeli soldiers as if they they were community organisers and lovers of all peoples. Whereas we witness many incidents akin to the Israeli Medical Orderly NCO who in cold blood murdered a wounded Palestinian man lying in the road. I accept that he had attacked the soldiers, but he was at that stage helpless and had been for several minutes when the Israeli killer sauntered up to him and shot him again.

To make things worse the Prime Minister of Israel condoned the attack by demanding that he was pardoned.

This is very typical of Israeli Zionist tactics: When your neighbor is down and fighting for his life, occasionally stick a knife in his back to make it more difficult for him to fight his enemies. They scream and cry when one garage-built pipe bomb with flutes is fired into an empty field from Gaza, then shoot sophisticated missiles into urban areas of Syria. Not only is it extremely cowardly, but it shows a callous disregard for human life, something they are always crying and screaming about when the occupied territories fight back . . .the home-invader/robber/rapist screams and cries… Read more »

Sounds more like a Hamas job, trying to pin the blame on Israel.

The Syrian military will do nothing because Russia won’t let them. Israel is now a NATO observer State and more important to American politicians than the US is. If Syria does any thing you will have NATO shooting up Syria. Russia is reluctant to turn it’s air defenses on because NATO will use any signal leaking from them or other information to figure out how to defeat them. Russia has given a green light for any one to attack Syria as long as they don’t attack Russians. Even Turkey has a green light to shoot up Syria again.
