BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s High Command issued an imperative decree on Monday that honorably discharged thousands of soldiers from the armed services.

According to a communique from Damascus, the Syrian Army’s High Command issued an administrative order that ends the reservation of batch number 248 of the conscripted officers and earlier batches, along with batch number 249.

As a result of this decree, many Syrian soldiers that have served for over seven years in the armed forces will be honorably discharged.

This move by the Syrian Armed Forces comes just months after they discharged thousands of soldiers that were part of the conscripted class in 2010.
