BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful assault in the western countryside of Palmyra tonight, striking the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) defenses south of the T-4 Military Airport.

Led by the 800th Battalion of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate more territory south of the T-4 Military Airport, forcing the Islamic State terrorists to continue to abandon their positions in the vast Syrian Desert.

In addition to their assault south of the T-4 Airport, the Syrian Arab Army’s 18th Tank Division also carried out military operations east of the T-4 Pumping Station.

This attack east of the T-4 Pumping Station resulted in the death of 11 Islamic State terrorists and the destruction of 2 armored vehicles that were fitted with 23mm anti-aircraft machine guns.
