The Syrian Arab Army’s 66th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Al-Salamiyah – cleansed the Sheikh Hilal region of east Hama on late Friday morning after the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) attempted to infiltrate several villages and roadways.
According to a military source in Al-Salamiyah, the Syrian Armed Forces cleared the road between Wadi Al-‘Azeeb and Sheikh Hilal after several ISIS terrorists attempted to disrupt the government’s main supply route to the aforementioned town in the Al-Salamiyah District.
The source added that the Sheikh Hilal-Salamiyah Road is completely under the Syrian Arab Army’s control; however, there is still some resistance from the ISIS terrorists in eastern Al-Salamiyah.
