BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:45 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) renewed their offensive in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, today, striking the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions at the northern part of the Maskanah Plain.
Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army attacked the villages of Quwas and Al-Hamra in east Aleppo; this resulted in a fierce battle that would ensue for a short period of time this morning.
Unable to hold the villages, the Islamic State militants were forced to retreat south of Quwas and Al-Hamra in order to avoid being overrun by the swarming soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces.
With the capture of Quwas and Al-Hamra, the Syrian Arab Army has now liberated 13 villages in east Aleppo over the last 72 hours.
