BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has captured a new town on Monday after resuming their offensive in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate.
Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army began their attack by storming the town of Al-Qasabiyah from their positions at nearby Kafr Naboudeh.
A fierce battle would ensue between the Syrian Army and the jihadist rebels, resulting in the latter’s eventual surrender of Al-Qasabiyah along the Idlib-Hama border.
Monday’s advance by the Syrian Army marks the first time in eight days that their forces have made an attempt to advance their positions inside northwestern Syria.
The Syrian Army is now working to secure the entire area around the key town of Kafr Naboudeh.
