BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:40 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful assault in the northeastern countryside of Hama, yesterday, targeting several small towns near recently captured Duma and Qasr Al-Shawi.
Led by the elite 39th and 40th brigades of the 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army began the day by storming the town of Arfah, which is located northeast of Qasr Al-Shawi.
Within hours of launching this attack, the Syrian Army managed to advance through Arfah, resulting in the capture of this town by the early afternoon hours.
Following the capture of Afrah, the Syrian Army swept through the towns of Al-Rabdah and Hazam, forcing the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham to withdraw north from the area.
On Thursday, the Syrian Army continued their operations in northeast Hama, targeting the remaining towns under the control of the jihadist rebels near their stronghold of Al-Rahjan.
