BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has scored another major advance in southern Idlib as their troops managed to capture the key town of Al-Ta’manah from the militant forces.

Led by the 25th Division Special Mission Forces (formerly Tiger Forces), the Syrian Army resumed their attack on Al-Ta’manah last night, following a failed counter-offensive by the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

The Syrian Arab Army quickly took advantage of the weak jihadist defenses in southern Al-Ta’manah, seizing several points before announcing the full capture of the town this morning.

In addition to capturing Al-Ta’manah, the Syrian Army also captured several sites around the town, further securing the area in case of a jihadist counter-attack.

With Al-Ta’manah captured and Khuwayn on the way, the Syrian Army should have the eastern flank of Khan Sheikhoun fully secured by the end of the week.

For the militant forces, this latest loss is a major setback in the southern countryside of Idlib, as they now find themselves nearly expelled from the southern part of the demilitarized zone.
