Aleppo, Syria (5:30 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), backed by Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), imposed full control over the strategic Armament School in southern Aleppo after a violent battle with the jihadist militants of Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest).

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies broke-through Jaysh Al-Fateh’s first-line of defenses last night, forcing the aforementioned jihadist group to retreat to the central buildings.

Once the northwestern corridor of the Armament School was under control, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies stormed the central buildings, overrunning Jaysh Al-Fateh’s defenses and establishing full control over this strategic military installation.

With the Armament School under their control, the Syrian Armed Forces will now target the Al-Ramouseh District in order to reopen their supply route from southern Aleppo.

How many militants were killed? If you don’t get rid of enough of them they will keep launching attacks to retake the area.

You don’t need missiles to get VBIEDs to blow.
If I was in equipment planings, you’d see a lot of heavy APCs with an AK-630M2 turret… Shihadists could always come with their TOWs : even artillery/mortar shells would blow in the air with this… And better not be around if it targets you : 160/170 30mm API shells per second, ouch, even if you’re in a MBT!!!

Hard to say but in the first week of the offensive, it was estimated to 1500. It wassupposed to be the mother of all battles, the shithadist saying they were gathering the huger manpower they’ve never put in any battle so losses are likely to be VERY huge, the proof is they called Erdogan for help!

This jihadist offensive is prepared months in advance and carried out with great force, new equipment and infrastructure/tunnels prepared for this. They lost dozens of tanks and BMPs, thousands of dead and wounded experienced jihadists and accomplished nothing if SAA retake whole territory. They couldn’t use “corridor” because it was under artillery fire and plane bombardment all the time. SAA lost lots of men and equipment to, but they can more easily replace it, and if they win this battle and use it to regain more territory like Qarassi, Khan Thouman, Rashideen 5, parts of southern Aleppo city around main… Read more »

The Hama offensive undermines the point about the jihadis being severely weakened.

Not really. East Aleppo is a much bigger price, but the jihadists seem to be now settling for the much smaller price of Hama (fantasy). Plus they are having to be on the offensive all the time, in order to not be ground down. Very costly and any supply line shut downs by SAA will slow them right down. The jihadists will lose!

Why don’t the SAA take Ramousah and then take every district that borders the river? I can’t believe that they never considered this, this way they wouldn’t be fighting on two fronts again and the river would provide the perfect defense, with the bridges being the only way for the jihadis to cross, which could be easily controlled. Rather than let this cut off at the Artillery Base happen again, assaulted from west and east.
