BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a new attack in northwestern Hama this morning that targeted all of the areas recently captured by the jihadist rebels.
Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army began their assault by storming the strategic hilltop of Tal Malah in a bid to retake this imperative site from the jihadists of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
Following a short battle for Tal Malah, the Syrian Arab Army was able to retake this hilltop and the nearby town of Jibeen after the jihadist rebels retreated further east.
According to a military source at nearby Mhardeh, the jihadist rebels had mostly retreated from the hilltop after the Syrian and Russian air forces unleashed a massive assault on the militant positions.
As a result of today’s advance, the jihadist advances in northwestern Hama have been completely reversed; thus, allowing for the reopening of the main road between Mhardeh and Al-Sqaylabiyeh.
The Tiger Forces will now shift their attention back to the Kafr Naboudeh front, where they hope to capture the hilltop of Tal Sakher and nearby town of Al-Hobeit.
