ALEPPO, SYRIA (9:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their large-scale offensive inside the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo City on Thursday, targeting the key district of Suleiman Al-Halabi, which was under the control of Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki.

Led by the 102nd Brigade of the Republican Guard and Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), the Syrian Armed Forces began the assault by storming the western axis of Suleiman Al-Halabi, capturing the majority of the district after a fierce battle with the jihadist rebels on Thursday morning.

With dusk quickly approaching Aleppo City, the Syrian Armed Forces made another big push to capture Suleiman Al-Halabi; this would prove successful, as they established full control over the district.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the Syrian Armed Forces seized the entire Suleiman Al-Halabi District, along with the Electrical Station that is located north of the Sakhour Roundabout.

As a result of today’s gains, the Syrian Armed Forces are now within striking distance of the Sakhour District, which is a jihadist stronghold in east Aleppo.
