ALEPPO, SYRIA (9:45 A.M.) – At 8:00 A.M. (Damascus Time) this morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 102nd Brigade of the Republican Guard, backed by Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), imposed full control over the strategic hills of Talat Al-Bureij and Jabal Al-Zafit in northeastern Aleppo.

The 102nd Brigade and Liwaa Al-Quds began their assault this morning by targeting Talat Al-Bureij and Jabal Al-Zafit from their positions at the nearby quarries; this resulted in a fierce battle with the Islamist rebels of Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, the Free Syrian Army (FSA), and several other groups.

As a result of this attack, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to strengthen their positions near the Majbal and Manasher districts, giving them fire control over several buildings controlled by the Islamist rebels.

More importantly, the Syrian Armed Forces have managed to build a larger buffer-zone around the strategic Sheikh Najjar Industrial District, which is currently being rebuilt by the Syrian government.
