HAMA, SYRIA (8:35 A.M.) – The Syrian Armed Forces launched a powerful counter-offensive inside the northern countryside of Hama last night, targeting the villages and farms located just north of Taybat Al-Ism.
Led by the 555th Regiment of the 4th Mechanized Division and the Tiger Forces’ “Shaheen Group,” the Syrian Armed Forces managed to capture a number of villages and checkpoints in the northern Hama countryside today, marking their most successful assault in this region.
According to the local field correspondents, the Syrian Armed Forces captured the villages of Al-Sha’atha, Al-Junayneh, Al-Qahira, and Al-Tulaysiyeh after overrunning Jund Al-Aqsa’s (Syrian Al-Qaeda franchise) defenses.
In addition to the aforementioned villages, the Syrian Armed Forces also captured the Al-Naqra, Al-Khayma checkpoints, along with the Al-Qahira Airfield.
Intense clashes are now taking place near the key village of Karah, as the Syrian Armed Forces continue their advance this morning.
