ALEPPO, SYRIA (5:35 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard, backed by Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), launched a powerful assault inside the northern sector of Aleppo on Friday, targeting the strategic district of Bustan Al-Basha near the predominately Kurdish Sheikh Maqsoud Quarter.

According to a military source in Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces managed to capture the local church, Haritani building, and Bustan Al-Basha Tower located at the northwestern sector of the district.

The Syrian Armed Forces are now pushing further south, as they look to establish full-control over this strategic district located in Aleppo’s northern sector.

Bustan Al-Basha has long been under the control of the jihadist rebels; its proximity to the Castillo Highway made it an imperative military endeavor for the latter.
