Earlier today inside the Latakia Governorate’s northeastern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF), the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), Liwaa Suqour AL-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), and Muqawama Souri (Syrian Resistance) – imposed full control over several sites in the Kurdish Mountains (Jabal Al-Akrad) after launching a massive assault in conjunction with the Russian Air Force’s strategic airstrikes in Kinsibba.

According to the battlefield correspondent Eyad Al-Hussein, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade and their allies seized Duwayrakah, Point 361, Jabal Al-Mulqa, Ruweisat Al-Mu’alaqah, Al-Muzayra’ah, and ‘Uwayhat after a violent battle with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), the Free Syrian Army (FSA), and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham this morning.

The capture of the aforementioned sites in the Kurdish Mountains has opened the path to the strategic village of Kinsibba, which is considered one of the last strongholds for the Free Syrian Army’s “1st Coastal Brigade” and Jabhat Al-Nusra in the Latakia Governorate’s northeastern countryside.

Much of the Syrian Arab Army’s success today was due in large part to the Russian Air Force’s strategic bombing campaign along the main road to the village of Kinsibba; without these airstrikes, the Syrian Armed Forces would have had to deal with roadside attacks from the Islamist rebel fighters from Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Free Syrian Army.
