BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:35 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside the National Defense Forces (NDF), launched a powerful assault in the northern Hama countryside yesterday, targeting the jihadist-held town of Zalaqiyat near Halfaya.

Led by the 39th and 41st brigades of the 4th Mechanized Division and 5th Legion, the Syrian Arab Army managed to enter Zalaqiyat yesterday, but failed to take full control of this town.

On Saturday, the Syrian Arab Army launched another attack on the town of Zalaqiyat and its corresponding hilltop, targeting the fractured defenses of the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-‘Izza.

Unable to hold their ground in Zalaqiyat, the jihadist rebels were forced to withdraw from the town, leaving the entire area and hilltop to the Syrian Arab Army and their allies.
