Hama, Syria (7:26 P.M.) – Shortly after the arrival of Colonel Suheil Al-Hassan along with many reinforcements, the Syrian Army supported by the National Defense Force (NDF) launched a counter-offensive in northern Hama.
This counterattack comes after jihadists from the Jund Al-Aqsa terrorist group allied with the FSA-affiliated Jaish Al-Nasr managed to capture several villages south of Lataminah.
As of now, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to recapture the village of Ma’ardes north of Mt. Arbaeen after destroying several armored vehicles and killing many militants. Abu Ahmad Naif, the commander of Ansar Al-Din Front was among several high-ranking jihadist commanders killed on that troubled front.
Meanwhile, Jaish Al-Nasr lost two commanders on that front: Rashid Al-Haji ad Abu Al-Zubayr Al-Hamwi.
It is clear that the jihadist forces overstretched their supply lines during their advance south of Helfaya which may easily result in the entrapment of hundreds of fighters in the aforementioned region.
