The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched another powerful attack in the eastern pocket of Aleppo this week, targeting the strategic Youth Housing Complex in the Halwanyah District after taking a brief hiatus on Tuesday.

Led by the elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army broke-through Fatah Halab’s defenses at the Youth Housing Complex, resulting in the latter’s mass retreat from this strategic site in the Halwanyah District of east Aleppo.

In addition to the capture of the Youth Housing Complex, the Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard forces, alongside Hezbollah, imposed control over 80 percent of the Sheikh Sa’eed District in southern Aleppo on Wednesday, killing several militants from Jaysh Al-Fateh in the process.

Unlike the Halwanyah District, Sheikh Sa’eed is strategically located along the southern most part of the east Aleppo pocket; it has long been under the control of the jihadist rebels, despite several attempts by the army to restore the area.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
